Scary Monster

A few years ago, whilst studying towards my CIW Web Lord qualification, I started thinking about other things I'd been wanting to do, but hadn't had time for. A 60+ hr week had become normal, but the drudgery of Retail Management was rapidly becoming a memory. Why not make a stop-frame animation? No more splicing film anymore, everything's digital. A friend had shown me how easy chroma-keying had become, so why not?

I doubt I'll ever set the world on fire with this, but it's a heck of a lot of fun. YouTube comments include "Haha...well done." and "fucking gay".
Scary Monster is born
My first crack at stop-frame animation. This was made using plasticene, pipe-cleaners, a cardboard box lined with orange sugar-paper, a Sony DSC-S40 (4.1Mp). Plus booze. Also Sony Vegas, but mainly booze.
Check out my Kurosawa-style wipes. I'm sure he'd be very proud. Also, when the little clone trooper guys vanish, I meant to do that. *ahem*
Scary Monster 2
This is my follow-up. Technically better than the first, but I don't think I drank enough. Watching these through again have prompted me to install Vegas again and have another crack.
The YouTube convertion screwed up the chroma-keying for the bear-thing at the very end, but who watches the credits anyway? Other than me (and probably you)...
